Our family loves to take vacations and explore our beautiful nation! My love of travel was cultivated as a child as our family took yearly vacations all over the United States! We never just sat on a beach, we EXPLORED! That love of travel transferred to my happy little family of 3 in adulthood. We have loved traveling with Cameron and showing him bits of the big, beautiful country we call home!

Our family Spring Break in Washington DC. in 2017. We visited the National Mall and President Lincoln photo-bombed our picture! 😉

Our 2020 summer vacation in northwest MI where we visited Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. The views across the dunes and the expanse of Lake Michigan were amazing! In some areas, the water looked like the Caribbean!

Our family summer vacation in 2018 was in Minnesota. We visited the Soudan Underground Mine in Ely, MN. This is a National Historic Landmark and features the first, deepest, and richest underground iron ore mine in Minnesota. Tours of the mine lead visitors through the world of underground mining. The 1.5 hour guided tour will take you 2,341 feet down and more than 100 years into our past. The mine tour was amazing (and something that I also did as a child)!

My handsome husband and I went to Maui, Hawaii in December of 2009. This was taken at Haleakala National Park. Haleakalā, or the East Maui Volcano, is a massive shield volcano that forms more than 75% of the Hawaiian Island of Maui. The tallest peak of Haleakalā, at 10,023 feet. The environment at that altitude resembles the surface of the moon. The views were amazing, but for this woman who doesn’t like extreme heights – the drive was terrifying!

A throwback pic to 1991 when my family went on a trek out west and swept by Glacier National Park for my Senior year family vacation. This is still one of my favorite places on the planet! They aren’t kidding when they call it Big Sky Country – you are so close, you feel like you can pluck a star out of the sky! So beautiful, it takes root in your soul!
