Just for Fun

Fun in the Sun

Get your fun on before the kids go back to school, and summer is over! Here are some top local picks from our team for fun times to be had!

Turkey Run

Kristine Chadwick is one of Objective Surgical’ s care coordinators and considers Turkey Run as her #1 favorite spot. She loves spending time with friends and family at this amazing park for kayaking, hiking trails and rock hunting. Link here.

Mississinewa Lake

You might know Mississinewa Lake by its other name, Miami State Recreation Area. This state park’s camping ground is perfect for everyone. There are tons of sites to choose from for both campers and tents. You can even rent a cabin. The lake has boat access as well as boat rental available. There is a beach with a convenient store up the hill, hiking trails, fishing, disc golf, and more. If you are in a rut going to the same place, add this one to your list for some variety. You will not be disappointed! Link here.

McCormick’s Creek

Angela Cummins, one of our surgery care coordinators, highly recommends a stroll through McCormick’s Creek even if it is only for a day trip. This is the oldest state park in Indiana and has some of the most amazing trails and caves tucked away in its hills. This is a must see! Link here.

Holiday World

This little theme park what once was called Santa Clause Land still brings in the herds. I believe this was the first theme park to offer unlimited soft drinks and sunscreen.  Jenni Tanner, Kristine Chadwick and Angela Cummins enjoy taking their families here for some fun, thrill seeking times. Brown County State Park

Angela Cummins, one of Objective Surgical’ s care coordinators, loves this park, especially in the fall.  There are tons of hiking and mountain bike trails and lots of beautiful picturesque spots for great photos. Check out the 90’ fire tower you can climb to see the views, wonder through the nature center, enjoy some horseback riding.  The list goes on! If you feel like a little shopping, head over to the little town of Nashville, IN. There is something for everyone! Link here.

P&D Flower Farm

Allexa Antrobus, Objective Medical’s Executive Administrative Assistant, highly recommends this little gem for a unique pick-your-own flower experience. The Farm also hosts many events from June throughout October that is worth checking out. Link here.

White River State Park

Who knew there was so much to do in one little spot? This place has it all! The zoo, museums, IMAX theatre, bike rental, paddle boats, restaurants on the canal and more. Even if you just want to chill on the grass, you can! Or if you are a concert groupie like our Surgery Director, Michael Pisano, you can shake it down to some bands like Umphrey McGee at the amphitheater. Link here.

French Lick

Come spend a day or weekend in French Lick/West Baden Springs, Indiana. There are so many adorable antique/gift shops to look at with some nice resorts and casinos too. Take a train ride to see Larry Bird’s childhood home and learn all about local history. Afterwards, get your eat on at Larry Bird’s restaurant, 33 Brick Street, but make sure you save room for dessert for the best ice cream on earth at French Licks. Link here.

Indiana Zip Line Tours

Zip-a-dee-doo-daa! Ready for Rockwall climbing or zip lining? Our Chief Innovation Officer, Jenni Tanner and her boys can vouch for an awesome zip lining experience in Crawfordsville. Link here.

Sullivan Lake

Cindy Orwig, one of Objective Diagnostic’s schedulers, loves boating and highly recommends Sullivan Lake. This is a nice and quiet, little lake that is excellent for swimming, boating, water skiing and fishing. In addition to this lake, there are a lot of spots to pitch your tent or hook up your camper. Or, if you are looking for a new place to golf, bring your clubs because this place has that too! Link here.
